Hotel Partizán, set in the scenic area of the Low Tatras, welcomed its first guests in 1961. At that time, it was part of the Interhotels Ružomberok network and quickly earned a reputation as a place that blends comfort with nature. In its early days, it was a place where people from different parts of Czechoslovakia met to enjoy a relaxing stay in the heart of Slovakia.
History of the Family Business
Currently, the hotel is synonymous with comfort, where historical heritage meets modern times and where visitors gain unforgettable experiences in the embrace of beautiful nature.

Since its opening, Hotel Partizán has strived to be a leader in providing comprehensive services. By 1989, it was considered the most comprehensive hotel in Slovakia, often referred to as the "Pearl of Central Slovakia," with the most modern facilities and top-notch services. Its portfolio at the time already included an indoor pool, a summer swimming pool, a conference room, and 29 traditional log cabins. A self-service restaurant, an anchor ski lift, a motel with a camping area, and an extensive area of 25 hectares added to its appeal. The hotel even owned a Karosa Lux tour bus, which offered guests comfortable travel around the area.
One of the milestones in the hotel's history was in 1990 when it became the first hotel in former Czechoslovakia to have color televisions in all rooms. This step was requested by English travel agency Thomson, with which the hotel cooperated through GR Čedok. Most of the hotel's capacity was then filled by guests from this travel agency.
An innovative step was also taken in 1991 when Hotel Partizán was the first in Slovakia to offer guests horseback riding and hot air balloon flights. These unique experiences contributed to its reputation as a place where traditional encounters with nature are combined with modern experiences.
Since 1992, the hotel has been owned by the Kičovcov family, which continues the tradition of constant innovation. In 2002, the hotel hall with reception underwent renovation, marking the beginning of a new era for the hotel. In 2006, the Limbus entertainment center and the Tálska Bašta experience restaurant, which was created on the site of a burnt-down chalet, were built. Tálska Bašta became a place where traditional atmosphere comes to life in a modern setting.
The most significant expansion occurred in 2011, with the addition of a fifth floor featuring new rooms, apartments, and maisonettes, a conference center with a foyer and a panoramic terrace, and an extensive wellness center covering an area of 1760 m².
The year 2015 brought another expansion of the wellness area, this time including a spa and fitness area. An additional 500 m² was added for beauty, regeneration, and sports wellness services. The hotel also increased its accommodation standards by remodeling 18 rooms in the northern part. A new Cigar & Cognac Club was created, and the restaurant capacity of the hotel was expanded by enlarging the Panorama restaurant.
In 2018, the hotel became the operator of Mýto Ski & Bike center, which is a popular ski resort in winter and the first and only bike park, as well as a place for family attractions in the Horehronie region, in summer. This novelty allowed hotel guests to enjoy outdoor activities all year round.
The story of Hotel Partizán**** is a story of growth and innovation. We are continually working on new features for our guests, to guarantee comfort and the joy of returning. In 2025, the hotel's portfolio will include an outdoor “Water World in the Heart of the Mountains” designed with energy efficiency and environmental friendliness in mind.
The Kičovcov family and the Hotel Partizán**** team look forward to every visitor who comes to discover this magical place in the heart of Slovakia.
